History:
It all started with a sewing machine.
Swinga was started by Anna Sundell and Henric Barkan. For two years, the sewing machine that Anna received as a 30th birthday present had been completely unused. She had intended to start mending clothes and maybe sewing some curtains – but now it just stood there. After some research, Anna found out that the sewing machine cost about 200 SEK. It also turned out that the production of it was not that good for the planet.
One night, Anna lay awake thinking about the sewing machine, as well as the snowboard that was unused in the storage room. She also remembered that the neighbour had not been home when they needed to borrow a drill. That’s when the idea of Swinga was born – an app that makes it easier to share gadgets with each other, and not have to buy new.
Services:
This is how we look to the future.
Imagine a world where people help each other. Imagine a world where people take care of and share resources. By swinging gadgets back and forth, we get an obvious alternative to buying new – while together we are a little kinder to the environment and the wallet. It started with a sewing machine, but it continues with Swinga.
